“Our wedding was definitely a dream come true,” says Sandra Gutierrez of tying the knot with Chad Rouleau this past spring. The bride recalls waking up to the sun on her face and being surrounded by her best friends, then receiving a surprise mimosa from Chad to start her day.
The couple enjoyed their “first look” photo session at the Sheraton Wall Centre in downtown Vancouver before hopping into a limo destined for their wedding venue, the Brock House.
“When we got there, everything was set up so perfectly, beautifully reflecting our winery themed wedding,” recalls Sandra. Despite the chilly day, Sandra and Chad held their ceremony outdoors to take advantage of the spectacular water and mountain view.
“We were very humbled and grateful that our friends and relatives even flew in from overseas (including the Philippines and the U.K.) to celebrate this day with us,” says Sandra. “Our day ended with fun and lively dancing inside the beautiful conservatory.”
The couple says their day was made even more special by everyone who helped to make it happen (since they hadn’t hired a wedding planner) including Sandra’s sister Stella who designed and created the save-the-dates and invitations, which received countless compliments.
Sandra also credits: “My makeup artist Julie from Let’s Face it Beauty made my girls and me look and feel very beautiful and glamorous. Our photographer, Melissa, captured every emotion and detail in all her photos. Our florists, May and Yalda from Sunflower Florist, carefully crafted each bouquet with such grace and perfect detail. Also, our DJ from Garry Robertson set the mood just right. Of course, the entire staff at the Brock House made sure we had the right guidance and information to put this all together and turn our vision into reality.
“This is definitely a day that will stay in our hearts and memories for many years to come.”
