Dawna and Eugene wanted a posh and stylish wedding in a central location so that their 200 guests could enjoy the evening in style. They chose the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver for both the ceremony and reception but focused most of their energy on the flowers, the cake, and a photographer to capture every moment.
With help from planner Aly Armstrong, the space came together beautifully for the ceremony which was officiated by Darian Kovacs. “He was hip and energetic,” say the couple, adding, “he kept the ceremony fun, entertaining and lighthearted throughout.” Classical and contemporary music by Musical Occasions’ live string quartet added some understated elegance while Dawna and Eugene exchanged their vows.
The guests moved to the Park Ballroom for the reception to find it decorated with bouquets of pink and deep purple roses, peonies, orchids and calla lilies arranged by Sunflower Florist
True to Chinese tradition, guests were treated to an indulgent five-star seafood and dessert buffet following heartfelt speeches from the wedding party including Eugene’s brother, Dawna’s twin and her older sister. Afterwards, the couple took to the dance floor—a white floor upon which the couples’ initials were monogrammed, designed and installed by Upright Décor—with a magical first dance to “Back at One” sung by Ruel Morales. The guests danced until dawn with late-night snacks and drinks free-flowing.
It was a memorable and magical evening. One that Dawna and Eugene will treasure forever.
